Alert Level 2 - what you need to know

Alert Level 2 - what you need to know

Posted on 13 May 2020

As we prepare to move into Alert Level 2, here's a recap of what you need to know. NZ moves into Alert Level 2 from Wednesday 13th May 11:59pm, meaning retailers, workplaces and playgrounds will be able to open from Thursday 14th May. There will be a staggered approached to reopening with Schools starting on Monday 18th May and Bars reopening the following Thursday 21st May. For most, it is a sign of relief to be able to open the doors again, however, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has reiterated that we must still 'play it safe'. Simply speaking if you are feeling unwell, stay home. Continue to demonstrate health and safety practise, wear PPE if you must and if you can continue to work from home you should. There will be rules to follow such as maintaining the correct physical distance, the use of correct hygiene measures and for Restaurants and Eateries they must abide by the 'rule of 10' and the '3 Ss'. Contact tracing is key so you may be asked to provide your personal information in some stores. This information will be items including (but not limited to), your name, address, phone number, and email address. The way the store uses this information must be strictly private and confidential and only used for contact tracing methods by the Govt. For more information read the article here from RNZ. If you're unsure about how or when you should reopen please feel free to contact us to discuss.
