Prioritising Mental Health: How Employers can Support their Employees

Posted on 11 Oct 2023

With the rising financial costs of today’s economic world and increased demands on individuals to provide for their families, it is no wonder there has been a significant increase in Mental Health Issues and the growing need for mental health support in the workplace.

As a responsible Employer, it is imperative to be compassionate.  By providing a healthy workplace, workers are likely to be more productive, and also enhances employee satisfaction while contributing to a positive company culture.

At Monteck Carter, we support our staff and believe work-life balance is essential.  It’s important to us that our staff feel valued and safe in their work environment, offering the flexibility with working hours and remote work options because we understand “Life Happens”.  We also monitor the workload and expectations as overloading staff can lead to burnout and thus adversely affect their mental health.

It is important that employers actively seek feedback from employees to support their mental health needs and offer a safe place for employees to discuss any issues. It is also important to provide your employees with access to mental health resources, counselling services, helplines, and mental health workshops to provide valuable support and guidance to employees experiencing mental health issues.
